Step 5: Evaluate & Reflect

Ethical decision-making doesn’t end after the choice is made. Reflecting on the decision helps improve future ethical responses and professional growth.

Key Questions to Ask:

  • Was this the best possible decision under the circumstances?
  • What did I learn from this experience?
  • How can I improve my ethical decision-making in the future?

Example:
After resolving an ethical dilemma, a peer specialist reflects on their decision and discusses the lessons they learned from the experience during their supervision, preparing themself for a more informed, improved approach to future ethical challenges.

Best Practice: Ethical learning is an ongoing process—commit yourself to continuous reflection and ethical improvement.
