Thus far, you have worked through governance, fiscal management, service tracking and data, and program evaluation. This part brings it together in the form of strategic planning.
Strategic planning is where everything you have built gets pointed in a direction. It is also where a lot of organizations get stuck, in a retreat room with a whiteboard and a facilitator, producing a document that ends up on a shelf. This part is about making sure that does not happen.
We open with preparation, because most plans are won or lost before the first goal is written. You will look back at what your last plan actually produced, decide who belongs in the room, and weigh whether to facilitate internally or bring in outside help. From there we move into the tools themselves, SWOT, SOAR, or both, and then into the work of turning a plan on paper into something that shapes how the organization operates day to day. The service tracking systems you built in Part 3 are what make any of it measurable.
This part closes with performance measurement and a final reflection on leadership, because strategy without execution is just aspiration, and execution without leadership is just activity. The goal is both. Take the pre-test before you begin, and bring everything you have worked through in the previous four parts with you.
