Frequently Asked Questions
Course Progress FAQ
This is almost always a temporary connection hiccup between your web browser and our website.
The Quick Fix: Refresh the page and try clicking it again. If it still doesn’t save, try clearing your internet browser’s cache or opening the course in a Private/Incognito window.
If your progress percentage went down (for example, dropping from 100% to 90%), it means a new lesson, video, or quiz was added to the course by the instructor.
The Quick Fix: Don’t worry—you didn’t lose any of your hard work! The system just recalculated the total number of steps. Look through the course table of contents to spot the new item and complete it to get back to 100%.
This depends on how the instructor set up the course:
Linear Mode: You must complete the steps in the exact order they are listed. Future steps will look grayed out or locked until you complete the current page.
Free Form Mode: You can click around, jump ahead, and complete lessons in any order that suits you.
Depending on how you gained access to the course you may need to update your profile. Select my account in the upper right of the screen followed by “Account Details” to add your first and last name. The certificates will now show with your name on download.
“What If” Scenarios
If you cannot click the completion button, the page is waiting for you to complete a specific requirement. Check for these three common roadblocks:
Is there a video? If the page has a video, you usually have to watch it all the way to the very end before the button unlocks.
Is there a countdown timer? The instructor might require you to spend a minimum amount of time reading the page. Wait a minute or two to see if the button becomes active.
Did you miss an assignment? Scroll down to see if there is an Upload Assignment box. You must submit your file before you can mark the lesson complete.
If you finished a quiz but find yourself stuck, check these two possibilities:
Does the quiz have written essay questions? If you had to type out a long-form answer, a teacher has to manually read and grade it first. Your progress will unlock as soon as they approve your answer.
Did you reach the passing score? Even if you finished the quiz, check the final screen to ensure you hit the required score (e.g., 80%). If you scored lower, you will need to click Restart Quiz and try again to unlock the next step.
This usually means a browser extension (like an aggressive Ad-Blocker) or a weak internet connection is stopping the course from talking to our database.
The Quick Fix: Temporarily pause your Ad-Blocker for this website, or try switching to a different web browser (like Google Chrome or Safari) to see if the page loads smoothly.
