This course builds on foundational knowledge of the National Standards of Excellence for Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs) and moves learners from understanding what the standards are to how they are implemented in real organizational practice. Rather than treating the standards as static requirements, this course positions them as practical tools for strengthening governance, improving service delivery, and reinforcing accountability across recovery-oriented systems.
Participants will explore how to assess alignment with the standards, identify gaps, and develop realistic, actionable strategies that reflect their organization’s capacity, community context, and values. Emphasis is placed on continuous improvement, shared responsibility, and formalizing action through clear planning and accountability measures.
