Welcome to Organizational Wellness
Just as individual wellness focuses on the whole person, organizational wellness focuses on the whole organization. It encompasses the soundness of your organization, the well-being of your staff and volunteers, the quality of your community and collaborative relationships, and the services you deliver.
In the past, organizations focused on meeting individual wellness needs without considering the workplace environment. But if an organization is unhealthy, the individuals within it will struggle to maintain their own wellness. This course takes a whole-organization approach.
Over the following modules, you will:
- Explore what organizational wellness means and how an organization’s foundational infrastructure shapes its overall health
- Learn how to assess your organization’s internal structure and external relationships using practical frameworks and tools
- Build a roadmap to wellness, set SMART goals, and explore strategies that support the well-being of staff and volunteers
- Examine the practices and values that sustain a healthy organization over time — leadership, communication, culture, conflict resolution, and the alignment of organizational and personal wellness
- Reflect on what you have learned and make a personal wellness commitment before completing the course
By the end of this course, you will be able to describe internal and external facing organizational wellness, define healthy workplace environments, identify ways to reduce workplace conflict, turnover, and burnout, and apply skills to conduct an organizational assessment and support staff and volunteer wellness.
